Summary/Abstract: Azerbaijan, which has an important place in the history of Turkish Islam, has always been at the center of attention with the beginning of the Middle Ages in political and cultural terms. Beginning with the Islamic conquests During the Arab period, especially with the Arab conquest, Azerbaijan entered a long period of Arab domination. As in other countries of the Near and Middle East, Azerbaijan had some developments in the fields of religion, language, literature and history. According to local sources, with the arrival of the Arabs in the region, the political, social, economic and cultural life of the country was generally practiced. In the process of the “Arabization” policy, it is stated that the religious-ethnic and cultural structure deteriorated and developments stopped and even significant regressions were experienced with the wars that took place in the region. However, with the advent of Islam, Islamic Civilization, which spread in all conquered regions, constitutes the turning point of world history and in this context, Islamic Civilization constitutes the basis of the history of medieval civilization. In general, it takes a centered approach to the main events and phenomena that constitute the basic dynamics of the medieval period and explains them in the context of cause-and-effect relationships. In the XI-XIV centuries, a period considered to be the period of Islamic development, Islamic civilization experienced its “Golden Age” and “Muslim scientific Renaissance”. Therefore, it is also known that in the general conquest policy of Islam, all geographies that came under the rule of the Caliphate, both political-economic and social-cultural development was achieved. As a matter of fact, in historical data, it is widely known that the geography of Azerbaijan has become a part of the Islamic civilization in the historical process and has made significant contributions to the general Islamic civilization. In particular, Arabic was used in scientific, religious and literary fields until the XI century. The main factor that influenced this was the multilingual culture of various peoples living in geographically different regions and the absence of a single language. The main purpose of the study is to reveal the scientific and cultural developments of Azerbaijan in the Middle Ages and to promote this rich heritage by highlighting it in the scientific world.
