Summary/Abstract: This article examines the relationship between Kant’s general theory of decision making and moral judgment. The initial thesis is that Kant’s theory relies heavily on common sense. For the analysis of common-sense practical judgment, Kant employs technical terms such as “maxim,” “hypothetical imperative,” and “categorical imperative,” which the author seeks to elucidate. In concluding remarks, the author points out that Kant’s “categorical imperative” in everyday moral judgment manifests itself in direct insights into immediate duties.
