Summary/Abstract: The salt exploitation administrative houses, of which only the one at Turda survived, had a similar organization. Depending on the salines importance, these constructions were also more modest in Cojocna, Ocna Sibiului (Sibiu salt mine) and Sic, or more imposing in Dej or Turda, where salt production and its quality were more appreciated. These small headquarters, even if they were spread throughout Transylvania (around the exploitations), had many common characteristics starting from the way in which they were built, the properties they owned and the personnel who served them. Regarding the details related to these constructions, we can say that all of them had an enclosure, were built on one or two levels, had gardens and ice houses, and some, wells and ponds. The kitchen, the butchery or the bakery and obviously the specialized staff that served them were all there, as well.
