Summary/Abstract: This study aims to provide an analysis of education in Victorian England, exploring the various facets of the education system of the period. We focus on the following key aspects: historical and social context, an analysis of the Victorian era, with a focus on the economic, social and cultural transformations that influenced the concept of education; the structure of the education system, an examination of the types of educational institutions in existence, from primary schools to higher education institutions and how they were organized and funded; gender differences and access to education, an exploration of gender inequalities, highlighting how education for boys was different from that for girls, and the implications of these differences, understanding these issues in the historical and cultural context of the Victorian era; educational reforms, the study of the main reforms and movements of change that contributed to the evolution of the education system, with reference to laws, public policy and the influence of reformers; long-term impact, i.e. examining how Victorian education influenced social, economic and cultural development both in England and in other regions affected by Victorian ideologies and policies. Structuring the article around these themes allows us to uncover the complexity and diversity of the Victorian educational phenomenon, highlighting not only the progress made, but also the limitations and contradictions inherent in this system. Thus, the study will not only analyze a collection of historical facts and data, but also a critical analysis of how education shaped individual destinies and collective identities in an era of rapid change and profound transformations
