Summary/Abstract: The cultural heritage of the Pałuki region represents a significant element of Poland’s ethnographic landscape, encompassing both tangible (handicrafts, clothing, embroidery) and intangible(dialect, music, rituals) aspects. The region, shaped by the influences of Greater Poland, Kuyavia, andKrajna, is distinguished by its unique combination of historical and cultural features. Key elements ofPałuki’s folk culture include traditional costumes, handicrafts, embroidery, and dances, which collec-tively reflect the identity and heritage of the region. This article explores the role of cultural heritagein promoting local identity and regional development, focusing on the Pałuki region. It examinesthe historical and contemporary significance of Pałuki’s cultural resources, highlighting challengesin their preservation and promotion. The dual administrative division of Pałuki between GreaterPoland and Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeships poses significant coordination difficulties, limitingthe integration of efforts to create a unified cultural narrative. Despite these challenges, local culturalinstitutions and non-governmental organizations play a crucial role in safeguarding and populariz-ing Pałuki’s heritage. Initiatives such as embroidery workshops, regional festivals, and the proposedrecognition of Pałuki embroidery as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO exemplify efforts topreserve and promote local traditions. The article underscores the importance of ethnographic re-search and interregional collaboration in ensuring the sustainability of Pałuki’s cultural heritage. Itargues for stronger partnerships between cultural institutions, local governments, and communitiesto address administrative fragmentation and enhance regional identity. By integrating heritage intocultural tourism and educational activities, Pałuki can strengthen its position as a unique culturaldestination, contributing to both local and national cultural landscapes.
