Assistance in concluding legal acts, an unusual measure to protect adults suffering from intellectual or psychosocial disabilities

Summary/Abstract: In harmony with the name, the study is devoted to the analysis of the legal conditions under which the individual can benefit from the measure of assistance for concluding legal acts: he/she is of legal age and has full legal capacity; he/she needs support to take care of himself/herself, to manage his/her assets and to exercise his/her civil rights due to an intellectual or psychosocial disability; the assistant for concluding legal acts is appointed under the terms of the law. In this context, we also present the legal nature of counseling for concluding legal acts as a "support measure", distinct from "protection measures" for the individual of legal age with intellectual or psychosocial disabilities.
