Summary/Abstract: In this article we analyse the literary motif of "collective resistance" in the Book of Esther in relation to the Mesopotamian literary tradition. Starting from works such as "The Epic of Gilgamesh" and "Lament for Ur" we observe how this motif is treated in the region, its similarities and contrasts, and its development in the mentioned space. Adjacent perspectives or secondary motifs are also treated, including differences in the idea of saving the community. Therefore, the present study aims at the recurrence of this motif in the region, as well as possible literary and cultural influences correlated to the Book of Esther.
