Summary/Abstract: This study examines the relationships between academics’ attitudes toward glass ceiling perceptions, organizational commitment, and psychological resilience. The study included 260 academics (127 women and 133 men; Mage = 39.30, SD = 9.42) working at a university in Turkey. The research employed the Glass Ceiling Perception Scale, the Psychological Resilience Scale, the Organizational Commitment Scale, and a Demographic Information Form. It was hypothesized that individuals’ psychological resilience would increase as their organizational commitment strengthened and their glass ceiling perceptions decreased. Descriptive analyses revealed that female academics exhibited higher psychological resilience and more negative perceptions of the glass ceiling compared to their male counterparts. The study found that psychological resilience was positively and significantly associated with both glass ceiling perceptions and organizational commitment. Additionally, a positive relationship was identified between negative attitudes toward glass ceiling perceptions and organizational commitment. Regression analysis results showed that negative attitudes toward glass ceiling perceptions and strong organizational commitment significantly predicted psychological resilience. This finding emphasizes the critical role of reducing glass ceiling syndrome and enhancing organizational commitment in boosting psychological resilience among academics. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of fostering a positive organizational climate to strengthen individuals’ psychological resilience. In conclusion, the study underscores the importance of strategies that reduce glass ceiling perceptions and enhance organizational commitment in improving individuals’ psychological resilience.
