Summary/Abstract: The role of women in single-parent families is crucial and often very demanding. Women i these families often take on a dual role – that of a parent who provides love and nurturing, and that of the main financial and organizational caretaker. They often face challenges such as balancing work with family obligations, financial difficulties and finding emotional support. They also play an important role in creating a stable and loving environment for their children, which can be extremely difficult in circumstances without the support of the other parent. They also often have to be role models for their children, teaching them the importance of perseverance, responsibility and coping with stressful situations. We will focus on the importance of social structure and the impact of patriarchy on the lives of women in single-parent families. The aim is to shed light on how social norms and gender inequality shape women’s experiences and how a feminist perspective can contribute to understanding these challenges. We will also explore the importance of social networks and support systems in dealing with the challenges of single-parent families. The aim is to highlight key sources of support that enable women to more easily balance parenthood, work and other responsibilities. We will also focus on the impact of the wider environment on the stability and wellbeing of single-parent families. The aim is to examine how various environmental factors affect the role of women and their ability to create a stable micro- and macro-environment for children.
