Summary/Abstract: Work with juvenile offenders is based on the work of centers for social work, which play a central role in ensuring the quality of treatment and prevention. The aim of this paper is to identify the views of lawyers employed in these centers on the practice of social work with juvenile offenders. Social work practice is based on three approaches: working with individuals and families, groups, and in the community. A survey of 140 experts, including 24 lawyers, was conducted as part of broader research on social work with juvenile offenders in the Republic of Srpska. The results, analyzed using descriptive statistics and the chi-square test, highlight the importance of this research due to the lack of similar studies and the significant representation of lawyers (17.1%) in the sample. The purpose of this analysis is to understand lawyers' perspectives on social work with juvenile offenders. The scientific goal is to describe and explain the importance of applying all three approaches, with a focus on the role of lawyers in this process. The results show that lawyers perceive a dominance of social work with individuals and families, with a lack of community interventions. The research concludes that proactive, prevention-oriented social work in the community is needed, based on legal and sociopolitical strategies.
