Summary/Abstract: Single-parent families are becoming an increasingly common form of family structure in modern society, and in most cases, women take on the role of primary caregiver. This role brings a number of challenges, including economic, emotional and social aspects, which affect not only the woman but also the child's development, as well as the wider social environment. This paper analyzes the factors contributing to the feminization of single-parenthood, the economic and psychological consequences experienced by female caregivers, as well as the ways in which society can provide support to these families. Special emphasis is placed on the legal framework for the protection of single-parent families, the availability of social services and the impact of gender stereotypes on the perception and status of women as primary parents. The aim of the paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of the problems faced by women in this role and to suggest possible guidelines for improving their position in society.
