Summary/Abstract: The article presents a religious procession carried out in the village of Yavrovo, Kuklen municipality, which takes place on the eighth Thursday after Easter, or Spasovday, and is called by the locals Raising the kunas (icons). The festival has long-standing traditions, and in 2012 it was included in the cultural festivals “Kuklen – let’s re-create the traditions”, as a part of the project “Kuklen live”, financed with European programs. The text examines the recognition of the holiday as an ancient custom as well as the participation, personal and institutional by the church board, of people connected to the village, guests, community center, the mayor’s office and municipal institutions, in the re-creation of traditions.
