Summary/Abstract: The principle of good faith presupposes the existence of rapports between people based on sincerity, truth, honesty. Good faith is a fundamental principle of civil law, which carries a series of practical implications even in other spheres of law, such as criminal law. The existing link between good faith and criminal law emerges from the need to meet the requirements for holding people criminally liable, based on obtaining and using evidence properly, truthful witness statements, or timely administration of evidence, for the expeditious development of the case, these being some of the most important conditions established by the legislator in this regard. In order to carry out this correlative examination, good faith appears as a principle of civil law that intervenes in criminal law to ensure that all activities specific to the criminal process are carried out in optimal conditions.
