Summary/Abstract: This paper explores the application of the Kantian principle of universality and the principle of good faith within Brazilian public policies, emphasizing the necessity of adapting these principles to multiculturalism through diatopic hermeneutics. The analysis, grounded in a conceptual examination of Kant, seeks to elucidate how Kantian deontological ethics, with its categorical imperative and the notion of good will, can support political actions that uphold human dignity and foster the autonomy of citizens in a diverse and multicultural setting. The central hypothesis posits that diatopic hermeneutics, by enabling intercultural dialogue, presents an effective method to adjust and temper Kant's ethical universalism to Brazil's diverse cultural landscapes, facilitating the creation of public policies that are equitable, inclusive, and respectful of various cultural traditions. Therefore, this study underscores the significance of Kantian ethics in the development of public policies in Brazil, reiterating the importance of commitment to good faith and recognition of the nation's cultural diversity for truly inclusive and equitable governance.
