Summary/Abstract: This paper compares the Emission Trading Schemes in China and the European Union. It provides basic information and an analysis of the features, scope, and development of the EU ETS, implemented in 2005, and the Chinese National ETS, adopted in 2021. The research conducts a comparative analysis of the common elements and differences between the Chinese and EU ETS. It also predicts the possible development paths of the Chinese system.
