Summary/Abstract: In teaching Turkish as a foreign language, students are expected to acquire some information about the culture of that language while learning the target language and to achieve meaningful learning by associating this with their own culture. In other words, in the learning-teaching process of teaching Turkish as a foreign language, cultural information is not expected to be a one-sided transfer, but students are expected to carry out an interactive learning process by establishing a relationship between the culture of that language and their own culture while learning the target language. For this reason, textbooks need to adopt a teaching approach based on interaction, not a one-way cultural transfer. The purpose of this research is to examine productive language skills (speaking and writing) activities in Turkish as a foreign language textbooks in terms of cultural interaction elements. Documents examined within the scope of the research; Yeni İstanbul, Yeni Hitit and Yedi İklim are Turkish B level textbooks for foreigners. In the study, the Criteria Form for Cultural Interaction Elements was prepared as a data collection tool and 8 items in the form were taken as basis. Document analysis method was used in the research designed with a qualitative approach. Percentage and frequency analysis, which are descriptive analysis techniques, were used to analyze the data. According to the research results, it is noteworthy that cultural transfer, not cultural interaction, comes to the fore in the activities in the textbooks examined. In this respect, students should be enabled to interact between the source culture and the target culture by emphasizing interaction rather than cultural transfer of the activities in the textbooks.
