Summary/Abstract: In the digital age, access to legal information is easier, but this can create an illusion of complete understanding, leaving room for abuse. Knowledge of the law is essential, but it is not enough. The state has the obligation to make the law accessible and to promote legal education. In Romania, this principle is supported by the Constitution, but there are challenges in its application, as citizens are not always aware of legislative changes. It also emphasizes that the responsibility to know the law must be complemented by the State's obligation to provide free access to information. Exceptions to this principle are limited, and errors of law may influence its application. Knowledge of the law is crucial, but there must be a balance between individual responsibility and the accessibility of legal information, especially in an ever-changing society.
