Summary/Abstract: In the context of globalization and technological innovation, scientific and technical Chinese, as a specific purpose language (SPL), plays a crucial role in promoting scientific exchange and cooperation between China and the rest of the world. This paper explores the unique attributes and educational practices of scientific and technical Chinese, highlighting its importance as a bridge for international scientific communication.First, the concept of scientific and technical Chinese is defined, and its linguistic characteristics – such as rich specialized terminology, rigorous logic, and precise expression – are analyzed from a linguistic perspective. Then, using the theories of communicative competence and intercultural communication, the paper explains how scientific and technical Chinese helps learners not only master professional knowledge but also effectively engage in cross-cultural communication.Additionally, the paper introduces the main models and methods of teaching scientific and technical Chinese both domestically and internationally, including case-based teaching, interactive teaching strategies, and the application of online learning platforms. The effectiveness of these methods is demonstrated through empirical research. Finally, from the perspective of social constructivism, the paper discusses the role of scientific and technical Chinese in shaping national image and enhancing soft power, emphasizing the significance of continuously optimizing scientific and technical Chinese education to promote global scientific innovation and cooperation.
