Summary/Abstract: On 26-27 September 2014 at the Museum of the City of Lodz the 6th conference from the series “Digital Meetings with Monuments”, entitled “Invisible Heritage”, took place. The proceedings were dedicated not only to issues of immaterial goods defined within “Convention Preservation of Intangible Cultural Heritage” which went into effect on 17 October 2003, but also to those which partly or completely lost, or for various reasons, never received their material character, and additionally to issues of protection and promotion of the newest heritage created in a form of born digital objects. The latter may be numerous, exceptionally varied and interesting phenomena which escape both the researchers’ concern and wide audience’s attention. The papers were collected in a few topic sections. The opening section, entitled “Various Faces of Immateriality” focused on issues related with understanding the essence and displays of immaterial heritage as well as the possible ways of their documentation. The section “Software Repositories – Strategies and Challanges” was devoted to building up vast data repositories and their long-lasting backup. Within other sections entitled “Documentation – Traces of Unpreserved Goods and Digital Reconstructions and Visualisations” the issues concerning documentation, reconstruction and visualisation foremost of the unpreserved or poorly preserved objects, were discussed. Also the role and place of digital heritage (as understood according to “Charter on the Preservation of Digital Heritage”, a UNESCO document from 15 October 2003) in protection of intangible heritage were discussed.
