Summary/Abstract: The article provides a comparative analysis of the legal framework and the citizenship regimes in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, based on the constitutional provisions and specific legislation of each country. It details the procedures for acquiring, reacquiring, and losing citizenship, as well as the substantive and formal requirements associated with each process. The study highlights national particularities regarding naturalization, multiple citizenships, revocation of citizenship for reasons of security or fraud, and the role of executive authorities in the decision-making process. It underscores both the similarities and differences between the two systems in light of their shared post-Soviet historical background and the international pressures related to human rights protection and migration.
