Summary/Abstract: This thematic issue of Curierul Judiciar is dedicated to theoretical reflections and practical analyses on the acquisition of citizenship, understood as a voluntary and conscious process of integration into the constitutional identity of a state. Starting from the premise that citizenship is a vocation rather than an absolute subjective right, the authors offer a range of relevant perspectives on current regulations, drawing on specialized legal doctrine and the recent case law of the Constitutional Court (notably Decision no. 558/2024). The contributions reflect a diversity of viewpoints from both academic and professional backgrounds, with a focus on the comparative value and administrative applicability of the legal solutions explored. The studies address legal theorists, practitioners, and policymakers alike, offering support for the modernization of the citizenship legal framework in accordance with the standards of the most advanced European democracies.
