Summary/Abstract: The Felvidéki Magyar Közművelődési Egyesület (F.M.K.E.) [Hungarian Public Culture Association of Felvidék] was a state-supported civic organization promoting assimilation in the northern counties of the Kingdom of Hungary. Although it was primarily active in the cultural field, it also emerged in the economic sphere. It did not, however, appear on the market in the classic profit-making way, but as a product on the one hand, and as a coordinator of labour and product on the other. The study is part of the dissertation on the presence of Czech capital in Hungary, and in this context, it will show how F.M.K.E. sought to implement and represent Hungarian national supremacy countrywide, and how and why it created a national image transfer of products. And thus, the symbolic competition of nationalisms on the market.
