Summary/Abstract: This article explores the multifaceted role of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing the process of learning foreign languages. It examines the advantages, such as personalized learning experiences through adaptive algorithms that cater to individual student needs, real-time feedback via AI-driven language apps, and immersive environments created by virtual assistants. Moreover, the article highlights the convenience of AI in providing instant translations and pronunciation guidance, making language acquisition more accessible. Conversely, it addresses significant disadvantages, including the potential for reduced human interaction, which may hinder conversational skills, and the risk of over-reliance on technology, leading to superficial learning. The article also discusses concerns regarding data privacy and the ethical implications of AI use in education. Ultimately, it advocates for a balanced approach that combines AI tools with traditional methods to optimize language learning outcomes. The relevance of this topic is due to the fact that AI becomes more integrated into language learning, traditional teaching roles may be threatened. This raises questions about the future of language educators and the quality of learning experiences compared to human instruction. AI can tailor learning experiences to individual needs and enable learners to access language resources anytime, anywhere. However, excessive dependence on AI can hinder conversational skills. For example, relying solely on chat bots may limit real-life practice, making learners less confident in speaking with native speakers. The research methodology is based on a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys and interviews to gather both quantitative and qualitative data. The purpose of this study is to provide a balanced view of how AI can be utilized effectively in language learning while addressing its limitations. By analyzing these factors, educators and learners can make informed decisions about incorporating AI tools into their language studies. Elements of novelty of the research focus on exploring how more sophisticated algorithms can predict learners’ needs and adjust content dynamically. Conclusion. In today’s world, artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming an integral part of the educational process, particularly in the study of foreign languages. The advantages discussed, such as personalized learning, increased student motivation through interactive platforms, automated assessment and the use of conversational chatbots, demonstrate the revolutionary impact of technology on traditional teaching approaches. However, despite the many advantages, there are also disadvantages, such as the risk of losing the personal contact between teachers and students, as well as potential problems with trust in automated grading systems. Highlighting the importance of human qualities such as empathy and critical thinking underscores the need for a balanced approach to the integration of AI in education.
