Summary/Abstract: The following article addresses the concept of simulated reality in contemporary Russian literature and is based on the notion of hyperreality introduced by Jean Baudrillard in his work Simulacra and Simulation. This article analyzes different simulated models present in the consumer society, the strategies used by the authorities to promote and implement these models, their effects on citizens and the purpose for which they were generated. To discuss all these aspects, the works of Viktor Pelevin and Olga Slavnikova were taken into consideration. The study is based on the sociological research of Jean Baudrillard, Zygmunt Bauman, Mihaela Constantinescu etc. Also, a lot of attention is devoted to the means by which the mass media facilitate the propagation of these simulated realities, as well as the promotion of identities and false needs through the action of advertisements. In general, the study aims to reflect the situation of consumer society, the attitudes and beliefs of younger generations.
