Summary/Abstract: The first part of this paper addresses the historical context of the chronicle written by the Franciscan Andrija Šipračić from the monastery in Kraljeva Sutjeska, its content and structure, while a more significant part of the paper is dedicated to the linguistic, i.e., lexical insight into the transliterated fragments of the Chronicle (recording events from the year 1632 to 1666, i.e., from pages 8 to 17 of the original text of the Chronicle), which includes onomastics: toponyms and anthroponyms, as well as vocabulary of foreign origin: Latinisms and Graecisms, Italianisms, and Orientalisms in the highlighted fragments. The paper comments on lexically specific words, though not all individual ones. The lexical insight into the highlighted fragments and the interpretation of specific lexemes allows for a more comprehensive understanding of the text and the historical context.
