The Violin Concerto and the Cow: On Gałczyński’s Game with Censorship, Critics and Readers in the Poem 'Niobe'

Summary/Abstract: The text is an attempt to answer the question: How was it possible to reconcile the artist’s individual and discernible poetics with the propaganda and cliché character of the ideology of socialist realism present in K. I. Gałczyński’s poem Niobe? It seems that the poet succeeded in achieving his objective by playing a game with censorship and critics taking advantage of the musical (concert) structure of the work he created.
