Results of a Poll of "Osteuropa"-Readers

Summary/Abstract: In this editorial, the most important results of a poll of "Osteuropa"-readers are depicted and analyzed. More than half of the readers are under 45 years. The greater number subscribed to this periodical for professional and for private reasons. A third became subscribers only after 1970. Greatest preference is given to articles (80%) followed by the archive section (50%). Many readers attach importance to both the articles and the archive section. About half of the readers is teaching or doing research work. They are mostly interested in domestic and foreign affairs of the Soviet Union. There is a very wide range of requests headed by a request for articles on current affairs. The editors will endeavour to comply with these requests within the limits of their given possibilities.
