Summary/Abstract: In this text I analyze Paolo Sorrentino’s The Great Beauty (La Grande Bellezza,2013) in relations to identity crisis being the film’s central theme. The subjectmatter is expressed through unity of opposites: the social relations betweenthe characters, the role of space, the meaning of death, the passage of timeand recalled memories, and the expression of the sacred.
