Summary/Abstract: The case study strives to interpret the Hungarian-Roma cohabitation on the basis of a documentary that has been shot in a marginalized East-Hungarian settlement. The social worker protagonist’s monologue offers a look into the depravation of the countryside in Hungary after the political turn in 1990, and sheds light on the processes taking place similarly before our eyes in lots of local rural communities. Our principal goal with the documentary and the concerning analyses too, is to inform the reader about the sociocultural tendencies that are becoming more and more important public issues in our society.
