Summary/Abstract: This study aims to investigate the context in which St. Paul wrote the Epistle to the Philippians, focusing in particular on theories regarding the location where this epistle was written. The study examines three main theories about where St. Paul wrote this epistle: Rome, Ephesus, and Caesarea. By analyzing and comparing historical, archaeological, and textual sources, this study aims to identify the arguments and evidence supporting each of these theories and to evaluate their plausibility. The goal is to better understand the circumstances in which St. Paul wrote the Epistle to the Philippians and how these circumstances influenced the message and tone of the epistle. In addition to evaluating the place of writing of the epistle, the study will also explore the connections between the historical and geographical context and the major themes of the epistle, such as spiritual maturity and the role of suffering in spiritual growth. In conclusion, this work aims to provide a more nuanced and deeper perspective on the life and work of St. Paul through a thorough examination of the context in which the Epistle to the Philippians was write.
