Summary/Abstract: Physical development in its essence is a set of morphological, functional and somatotypological characteristics of the individual, defining them as anthropometric signs. Of interest are the peculiarities and characteristics of the physique, expressed to a large extent as a prerequisite for the successful performance of the individual in the sports game of handball. Somatotype, by its very nature, is a complex morphological characteristic of an individual. It is characterized by genetic predetermination, and its components undergo development during the ontogenetic development of the person. In sports practice, good knowledge of the structure of the human body allows sports specialists to properly plan training activities. The aim of the current research is to establish the changes that occurred in the physical development and somatotype of 11-year-old boys systematically engaged in handball. The research contingent is 100 boys aged 11 years. Subjects were tested at the beginning and at the end of the experiment.
