Summary/Abstract: The article focuses attention on one of the best-known photographs of Lotte Michailova – Etude, which was awarded a gold medal at the Second National Photo Exhibition in 1963. The research aims to shed more light on the question of whether her award was accompanied by discussions and a kind of “rebellion” of the participants, as Peter Boev writes in his book, Photographic Art in Bulgaria 1945 – 1995.
