Summary/Abstract: This article examines the history of creation, spatial arrangement, and exhibition design of art galleries in Bulgaria in the 1950s. It explains the history of their appearance, their differentiation and separation as an institution from the museum, and their evolution according to the developing artistic processes during the period, paying attention to the typology of architectural spaces and exhibition design.
