Summary/Abstract: Significant churches in which Haralampi Tachev worked have been destroyed or have had their frescoes destroyed. And yet, from his churches that remain to this day in Sofia, Plovdiv, Gabrovo, and Ruse, we can draw conclusions about the decorator’s work in church murals after the Bulgarian Liberation, about its radically different path of development from the previous period, and for the aspiration, even in conservative art such as church fresco, to apply the modern principles of academicism and especially secession in church decoration.
