Summary/Abstract: This study investigates the role of adaptive learning platforms and personalized assessments in enhancing training outcomes within Maritime Education and Training (MET). It examines how AI-driven learning systems, learning analytics, and intelligent tutoring systems can be leveraged to tailor maritime training to individual learner needs. Adaptive learning technologies enable self-paced, competency-based learning with immediate feedback, which has been shown to improve engagement and skill acquisition in MET. AI-driven tools such as intelligent tutoring systems (ITSs) provide individualized coaching by adjusting content difficulty and learning pathways in real-time. Learning analytics dashboards, fed by simulator performance data, can enhance training effectiveness by offering valuable insights for instructors and learners. The findings underscore significant implications for maritime institutions, educators, and policymakers. Institutions must invest in modern e-learning infrastructure and instructor training; educators should integrate adaptive technologies to complement traditional methods; and policymakers (e.g. IMO and maritime authorities) should update guidelines to support innovative training and continuous competency assessment
