Summary/Abstract: Ports are pivotal to global trade and have a significant environmental and social footprint. This study examines how communication strategies in port services contribute to sustainable development and the green transition. Adopting a literature-based approach, we review theoretical frameworks and industry practices to identify key communication methods, from stakeholder engagement and corporate sustainability reporting to digital outreach. The findings indicate that effective communication – emphasizing transparency, credibility, and inclusivity – is vital for ports to align stakeholders with green initiatives, comply with international regulations, and secure a “social license to operate.” Notable case studies reveal that ports leveraging integrated communication strategies and emerging technologies (AI, IoT, blockchain, UAVs) can better inform, engage, and inspire action among stakeholders. The study underscores the significance of robust communication in achieving sustainability goals in the maritime sector, positioning it as a catalyst for successful green transitions in port services
