Summary/Abstract: This study examines the theoretical and practical aspects of archaeological translation, focusing on the impacts of cultural, linguistic, and historical contexts on the translation process. Key challenges, such as equivalence, context, localization, and cultural sensitivity in translating archaeological texts and terminology into various languages, are analyzed. The study emphasizes the necessity for translators to consider historical and socio-cultural contexts and suggests strategies like contextual translation, dynamic translation, terminological standardization, and visual aids. Examples and comparisons illustrate the methods for rendering ancient texts into modern languages in detail. In conclusion, archaeological translation requires expertise encompassing linguistic, cultural, and historical knowledge to convey the legacy of the past to the present. This study aims to bring an interdisciplinary perspective to archaeological translation, highlighting its significance and richness within the broader translation field.
