Summary/Abstract: The Libyan conflict plays a crucial role in the international relations of the East-ern Mediterranean, affecting many countries in the region through its interna-tional actors. At the end of 2019, Greece also became part of the conflict's diplomatic battlegrounds, as Turkey and the Government of National Accord (GNA) in western Libya concluded a maritime delimitation agreement that neg-atively affected Athens and its Exclusive Economic Zones. Greece declared the convention as being unacceptable and announced that the violation of its terri-torial waters will be treated as an act of war. The new conflict implicated Libya in the Greek-Turkish disputes and added a new area to the conflict which was originally linked only to the Aegean Sea and Cyprus. The complexity of the lat-estdispute is indicated by the fact that it is not only related to the Libyan civil war, but also to the Mediterranean gas exploration and the migration crisis, which makes it very difficult to find a comprehensive resolution.
