Summary/Abstract: The article reveals how learning the culture of the target language by art students facilitates the process of language acquisition. To learn a new language often means to get to know its culture. Incorporating culture in the English classroom helps the development of communicative competence. The students feel obliged to follow and assist their teacher in the attempt to transform and adapt already existing practices and place them in a socio-cultural context. The introduction of something new enhances the interest of the learners and at the same time creates a relaxing atmosphere in the language classroom so much needed for good educational outcome. The presence of British and American culture in the curriculum makes students seek similarities and differences with their own culture as well as with the other subjects they study.
