Summary/Abstract: In their pursuit of full political power in post-war Poland, the Com-munists used all available methods. They did so in accordance with, formulatedon the basis of Marxism, Lenin’s directives. Among the methods of socio-tech-nical influence on individuals was economic coercion. This was a very effectivetool in a war-ravaged country, where citizens did not have their basic subsist-ence needs met. The subject of the article is the presentation of selected legalregulations aimed at tightening the economic coercion used by the communists against Polish society in the period preceding the elections to the LegislativeAssembly in January 1947.The dogmatic-legal method and content analysiswere used to study the subject in question.
