Summary/Abstract: The concept of "social enclaves" is gaining popularity in social sciences, with the leading idea being the presence in modern mass society of distinct groups that most often self-segregate not only spatially on a certain principle, the leading being the presence of a certain common trait – ethnicity, race, sexuality and religion, or based on sharing a common ideology. This article focuses on an interesting series of books by the "St. Kliment Ohridski" University Publishing House, named "Social Enclaves of Modernity", that focus on digital communities, the Roma minority in Bulgaria and sexual minorities.
