Summary/Abstract: In the modern legal system, the functions of judge's assistant and judicial assistant play an essential role in supporting the administration of justice. Although these professions are often confused, they have distinct duties and are regulated differently. This paper aims to analyze the differences and similarities between the two positions, highlighting their impact on the efficiency and quality of the judicial process. In the course of this research, we will explore the origins and evolution of these functions, the legislative framework governing them, and the contribution of each to the proper functioning of the courts. A comparative analysis will help clarify how these professions influence decision-making processes and the organization of work in the judiciary. The paper will also address the controversies and challenges related to the status of the judge's assistant, a relatively recently introduced position in Romania, as well as those related to the status of judicial assistants. Discussions in the public space and opinions expressed by legal professionals will be integrated to provide a balanced perspective on this topic. Finally, we will analyze the possibilities to improve the legislative framework and the long-term impact of these professions on the judicial system. The present study is intended not only as a descriptive overview, but also as a descriptive overview, but also as a contribution to the discussion on the evolution and reform of this crucial field for the rule of law.
