Summary/Abstract: This study explores the impact of the internet on modern individuals, highlighting its dual role as both a tool for accessing information and a medium that shapes reality. While the internet offers benefits in education, communication, and entertainment, excessive use can lead to addiction, with negative effects on mental and physical health, such as anxiety, depression, social isolation, and decreased academic performance. Definitions of internet addiction are reviewed, and key explanatory models are brought to the forefront. Studying internet addiction remains essential for understanding its complex implications on personal, academic, and social success.
