Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the phenomenon of secularization in the Orthodox communities of Romania, focusing on the causes, manifestations and possible responses from the Church. Secularization is examined through a historical and theological approach, highlighting its double impact: the lessening of spiritual influence in the public space and the emergence of desecularization processes. Although post-communism has facilitated a rediscovery of religious practices, major challenges persist, such as external ritualism and religious nationalism, which risk reducing the experience of faith to a cultural and formal dimension. Inspired by the writings of theologians such as José Casanova and Fr. Dumitru Popescu, the study criticizes the phenomenon of secularization of church life and the danger of ideologized religiosity. It highlights the need for an eschatological reorientation, focused on communion with God, and for an authentic liturgical experience, as a living expression of Orthodox spirituality. The proposed solutions include revitalizing the Eucharistic consciousness in parish life, promoting theological education for both clergy and laity, and strengthening the missionary work of the Church so that it can respond to the challenges of modernity while maintaining its fidelity to Tradition and spiritual integrity.
