The Contribution of Prof. Dr. Evelina Gateva to the Application of Classical Music in the Educational Process. Research Partly Based on Some Unpublished Sources

Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the 85th anniversary from the birth of the late professor doctor Evelina Gateva. Practically unknown to the contemporary scientific world of education, she was the creator of the so called suggestopedic art and contributed enormously to the artistic organisation of the suggestopedic teaching and learning process. With the objective to pay tribute to Prof. Gateva’s contribution, the author of the article exposes some unpublished observations on the way classical music began to be investigated for learning purposes at the Institute of Suggestology in Sofia, Bulgaria in the early 70s of the 20th century. A hypothesis to the worldwide importance of this investigation is suggested.
