Summary/Abstract: The changing challenges to maintaining the security of the state and the change in the demographic structure of the society make it necessary to expand and intensify activities to provide the state with effective defence and deterrence. Over the years, Poland has conducted programs aimed at influencing the quantity and quality of the Armed Forces as one of the elements of Poland's security. The article presents the correlation between the programs introduced to activate society and the dynamics of the increase in the number of the Armed Forces. Emerging analyses of Poles' perceptions of their commitment to defending the homeland indicate the legitimacy of introducing new programs influencing social attitudes resulting in an increase in the number of the Armed Forces
