Summary/Abstract: In the period between 1991 and 2021, 535 literary books were translated from Polish to Italian. After Szymborska’s poetry collections (28 books), Kapuscinski’s reportage works are the most translated Polish books in Italy (27). But he is not the only Polish reporter whose books were successful in that period. Even the youngest Polish reporters (Witold Szabłowski, Margo Rejmer) are currently published by the most important Italian publishing houses. Thanks to Kapuscinski’s success, reportage as literary genre became more and more important in Italy and, as a result, Italian reporters achieved notoriety too. In general, the Polish way to do reportage had a strong influence on the Italian model, since the reporter as a job in its own right (writer – journalist – reporter only) changed in the two countries in a very similar way.
