Summary/Abstract: Köfke stone, also known as kövke or köveke throughout the Lakes Region, is a tuff unique to Isparta, located in the Gölcük volcanism in a geological and geographical context. The köfke stone, which crops out 12 km south of the central village of Sav in Isparta Province, was formed as a result of the rapid decrease in the temperature of the lava erupted as a result of volcanic movements. Köfke has been used as a carrier material in architectural structures for centuries within the scope of the functionality offered by its physical and static properties due to its mineralogical structure. As a result of the research and development studies, it is now used as an insulation material in the cement industry and architectural structures. Due to their rich mineralogical structure, the compatibility of volcanic rocks with ceramic components and composites has emerged as a result of experiments and analyzes carried out in the light of the technological opportunities offered by our age. The use of composite materials, which has been exhibited within the scope of recent research in the ceramic industry, has shown its effect in terms of visual and performance in the artistic and industrial application areas of ceramics. The rich mineral structure of volcanic rocks, which develop as a result of geological phenomena in nature and are formed as a result of the combination of certain minerals, can largely comply with the formation of ceramics. The use of composite materials, observed with recent research in the ceramic literature, not only gives a forward-looking direction to ceramic technology but also creates additional areas of use for local resources such as köfke stone. With the research and experiments carried out in this context, the effects of volcanic rocks, which are sensitive to high temperatures, on ceramic linings were determined by a multidisciplinary research based on local clay.
