Summary/Abstract: One of the paradoxes of private collecting has always been the collector's dual impulse. On one hand, there is the urgent need to own a work of art and to remove it from its original space—whether a studio or an exhibition—into a personal space where it can breathe alongside them. On the other hand, there is the desire to 'complete' it by returning it to the place from which it was taken, into the space of public exhibition. / The house I live in is at a crossroads that allows me to look through the kitchen window along a street, at the end of which, on clear days, I can see the sun setting.
