Summary/Abstract: Tawakkul, a religious concept, has also been the subject of psychological research in recent years. The aim of this study is to adapt the Tawakkul Scale, originally developed for Pakistani Muslims for use in religious sciences research, to Turkish culture. For this aim, validity and reliability analyses were conducted on the data received from two different study groups totalling 595 participants. Based on the results of the Exploratory Factor Analysis performed on the data received from the first study group, it was seen that the items were grouped into four factors, consistent with the original scale, and the factors accounted for 60.21% of the total variance. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was applied to the obtained factors using the data received from the second study group and the obtained model was found at an acceptable fit level. The findings on criterion-related validity indicated that the scale provided a good fit, and statistically significant positive relationships were found between tawakkul and cognitive control and flexibility. The internal consistency reliability coefficient of the scale was .899 in the first sample and .923 in the second sample. It was observed that the corrected item-total correlation coefficients of the scale ranged from .39 to .72 in the first study group and from .43 and .72 in the second study group. Consisting of 23 items and four sub-dimensions, the scale meets the validity and reliability criteria. The adapted Tawakkul Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool to be used in studies to be conducted in Turkish culture.
